Random end-of-Summer moments

There was a time when I could update the blog weekly. Life with two kids keeps me so busy that I'm happy if I find time to update the blog monthly.  The days are going by really fast; there are so many moments I don't want to forget.

When I visited my parents in August, we went to Downtown Disney Marketplace. It was lots of fun! Each store had a different theme and there were different play areas to keep the kids entertained.

At the Lego store.

These are all made out of legos.

It was HOT outside.
So this is how we ended the day.
The kids loved it!

This is at the Library in Tallahassee. We go almost every week.  We love it.

This is at Tom Brown Park.  We go there a lot.
Oli and Maddie are really into "building" roads, digging, and playing with dirt.  It's funny that Maddie likes playing with trucks.  I guess having an older brother is rubbing off on her!

This was Oliver's first day of Preschool. He was really excited (and so was I).

Oli's classroom has a Fire Station theme.  Every weekend a different child gets to take home Fire Bear and Fire Dog and play with them. Oli was super excited to take them home when his turn came around.  Good thing there were two animals because Maddie claimed Fire Dog as soon as she saw him.

Even though some days are overwhelming and I don't always look happy, I love what I do. I love playing, being silly, laughing, and reading with the kids; and sometimes just staring at them. It melts my heart to see them play together and laugh at each other's jokes. I love it when we get into the car and I look back and see them holding hands while sitting in their car seats.  I love it when they're silly while Brian reads books to them at night. (I also love watching Brian being an awesome Dad.) The kids  crack each other up.  It's hilarious.  Most of all, I love hugging and kissing the kids. I don't want to forget these special moments.  Even though life is pretty crazy these days, I wouldn't change it for the world!

Flying a Kite at Tom Brown Park

This past Sunday we went to Tom Brown Park.  Brian and Oli were hoping it would be windy so they could fly a kite. Of course it was like 100 degrees outside and not windy but they made the most of any little breeze in the air. Madelyn and I enjoyed following them around.

Maddie started walking about 2 weeks ago!
She was very happy to walk around freely in an open field.

She thinks it's funny to find her belly.

After flying a kite, Brian taught Oli how to swing himself.  What a fun Daddy!

She loved the playground. It was her first time doing something other than sitting on a swing.

She was being affectionate with Brian, she's so sweet.

Our Vacation

As parents we've discovered a new meaning to the word VACATION.  Anything can happen like Madelyn getting an ear infection in the middle of the week or both kids having meltdowns in the car while on the highway.  First we took a day trip to Wakulla Springs which was about half an hour away from our house.  Then we went to Tampa for a couple of days. We visited my cousin in St. Petersburg and went to the Aquarium.  Lastly we went to Bonita Springs to visit our good friends, the Benders. Oli and Madelyn had a great time with their daughter, Charlotte and their doggy, Zoro.  We loved spending time with them.  Despite a few bumps along the way, we had a wonderful family vacation!

WAKULLA SPRINGS
We took a boat ride and saw beautiful birds, turtles, manatee and several alligators. The whole family enjoyed it! After that we went swimming and had a picnic lunch.

Check out the alligator!

KOREAN FOOD!
At this point Madelyn had gotten an ear infection and was on antibiotics but still feeling cranky, poor girl. On our way to Tampa we made a very important stop in Gainesville. We went to Garlic & Ginger, a Korean restaurant that we loved going to when we lived there. The food was so yummy!

AQUARIUM
We went to the Aquarium in Tampa and visited my cousin in St. Petersburg.

Unfortunately my camera battery died and I didn't take the charger with me so I wasn't able to take photos with the Benders :(
